MPC analyzer output: particle distribution by size and concentration · steel grinding
Do you know how clean your coolant is?
New filtration technology, combined with our laboratory that is unique in Europe, brings a revolutionary solution for your machines. This innovation extends the service life of your equipment and helps protect the environment.
In our laboratory we measure solid particles in coolants down to 1 µm. You will find out how well your filtration really works.
Does your filtration supplier guarantee coolant cleanliness?
We specialize in the filtration of industrial liquids. Filter fabrics are usually sold only with a guaranteed air permeability — with no guarantee of how large the particles are that they retain or what liquid flow rate they can handle. That is why we measure liquid cleanliness in the laboratory. Clean coolant means:
- Longer tool life – contaminants in the liquid wear tools.
- Less strain on machines – particles strain pumps and lines.
- Fewer coolant changes – clean coolant stays in service longer.
Three analyzers in one laboratory
In the ASTOS laboratory we measure the quantity of solid particles in your coolant and show you how effectively your filtration works in operation. We analyze water-based and oil-based liquids for machining, grinding and heat treatment.
Microscope Particle Control
The liquid flows through an illuminated chamber where a microscope with a camera records the size, volume and frequency of solid particles down to 1 µm. The software sorts them and presents them in images, charts and tables. The analyzer can be connected directly to the filtration in your plant — temporarily, or permanently with an alarm when limits are exceeded.
An original ASTOS device protected by a registered industrial design. We developed it with Machinery Design s.r.o. and a research team from the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice.
ASTOS Filtercontrol sieve analyzer
A set of vibrating sieves from 30 µm separates the contaminants in the sample into fractions by size. The result is used to select the filter and set up the filtration process.
Flow analyzer for filter fabrics
A liquid sample flows through a reference piece of filter fabric. We evaluate how many particles the fabric retains and how the flow time changes in the process. You will find out whether the fabric is suitable for your technology.
From sample to report
The analysis is used both to design new filtration and to audit existing filters that do not deliver the required performance. Based on the results, we recommend a tailor-made solution — from modifying your existing technology to a new filtration system.
